Our raised garden bed installation typically includes helping you choose the right bed size and placement, assembling and leveling the bed, filling it with quality soil, and setting it up so it’s ready to plant. We also share basic planting and care guidance so you know what to do next and don’t feel left guessing after install day.

It depends on your goals, space, and how much you want to grow. For most households, starting with one or two manageable beds is better than going too big, and we can recommend bed dimensions and layout that fit your yard and maintenance preference.

Both and more. We’re a custom edible gardening company, so we can build with whatever material you’d like—stacked stone, brick, retaining wall blocks, wood, metal, and more. Wood beds look beautiful and can be made fully custom; we typically use thick, long-lasting western red cedar. Metal beds often last even longer, but in Atlanta summers they can heat up more in direct sun, so placement and watering matter. We’ll help you choose based on budget, appearance, lifespan expectations, and what fits your space.

Depth depends on what you want to grow and how your site drains. For most vegetables, 10.5 inches is the best bang for your buck and performs really well in Metro Atlanta. A 14-inch bed is a great upgrade because it adds more root room and moisture buffering through summer heat, especially over heavy clay. Anything deeper than 14 inches mostly becomes an aesthetic and convenience choice—it looks more substantial and stylish and can be easier to work in, but it usually isn’t necessary from a plant-performance perspective for typical raised bed vegetables.

We place beds based on sunlight, drainage, proximity to a water source, and how you’ll actually use the garden day-to-day. The “best” spot is usually the one that gets strong sun and is convenient enough that you’ll keep up with harvesting and maintenance.

They can, especially if the bed is near a large tree and the bed is watered regularly. During installation we’ll evaluate root pressure and recommend placement adjustments or root-barrier options if needed so the bed doesn’t become a magnet for feeder roots over time.
